Note about spammers and flashy ads.

[2006-02-09] @ [10:38 a.m.]

This is a note about spammers and annoying flashy advertisers.

They annoy the crap out of me.

Firstly, spammers big and small. How the hell do they get my e-mail address(es), especially ones that I do not advertise online? Why do they keep sending me advertisements telling me about cheap drugs, porn, Rolex watches, and ways to enlarge my penis even though I am a woman?

They annoy the crap out of me. Truly.

I wish I would stop getting these irrelevant spam messages that just clog up my inboxes even though I don't get that many e-mails to begin with. It is the princeple of the matter. Worst of all is the messages I get that are completely random, such as an eBay order confirmation from this morning. Firstly, WTF? I never used eBay in my life nor do I have accounts with places like Amazon or Barns and Noble. Secondly, what kind of spam is that?

Now honestly.

Now, let's get to annoying flashy advertisers that make me feel like I am going to have a stroke because of flashing banners or just never stop popping by advertising winning a free Xbox or iPod or something along those lines.

Flashy advertisers are the worst. I don't mind Google ads that much because they're subtle and really not that annoying but flashy advertisers are the worst. "Click here because you're an instant winner," and, "Lower your home mortgage," just stay there. They keep moving without any hope of closing them out. Or they cleverly disguise themselves as a regular window and when I go to close you out, I really click on the advertisement. Ack!

Learn some manners!

Honestly, the things that the virtual world is coming to these days.

I feel better now. I am off to do my Italian homework.

So, quick thanks for the image from confusedvision, under the Creative Commons License 2.0. The inspiration came from Lacuna Coil, an awesome gothic metal band from Italy. With the exception of the image and lyrics, the design and code involved is mine. Graize.
